The goals of the Council of Accountable Physician Practices are to:
- Demonstrate that accountable physician practices and organized delivery systems deliver effective, efficient health care that improves clinical outcomes, enhances quality of life, and satisfies patients
- Provide a resource of medical group expertise and leadership in the public policy arena, particularly to inform the current health care reform debate
- Foster the development of accountable physician practices as a model for delivery system reform of the U.S. health care system.
In order to achieve our goals, CAPP actively engages in the following activities:
Facilitate research:
CAPP participants collaborate on a number of research and demonstration projects.
Lead change:
Through prominent positions in organizations seeking to foster change, CAPP’s physician leaders are well positioned to encourage system change that will result in better quality care.
Communicate:
CAPP is developing more effective ways to tell the story of multispecialty group practices, accountable care organizations and organized delivery systems, and to communicate the value of accountability in medicine using language that all audiences can understand.
